John Daly Hits Golf Ball Off Kid Rock's Beer Can During Pro-Am

There are any number of wonderful things about this video of John Daly taking time out from his busy schedule of missing cuts to hit a golf ball off Kid Rock's beer during this week's Buick Open pro-am in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

Actually, I think it's pretty funny, although it's images like this (and this) that undoubtedly led Butch Harmon to abruptly end things after just four months. But, hey, if it means walking around with an overalls-clad Bob, and enjoying himself with the common folk, then perhaps it's all worth it. Can't begrudge the guy for that.

Afterward, Daly told the Associated Press: "I love it rowdy, so it's a perfect place for me." Until Thursday, when they start keeping score, anyhow.

By the way, I'm sorta disappointed Daly didn't take that fan up on the "SHOTGUN IT!" offer. Maybe he has changed.

John's last day as a golfer are very close. He has soooo many problems, and now weight is another one. His attitude is that of a boxer, oh well. I'd hate to play in the next foursome after John 'cause the greens would be rather bumpy.
John has an enormous amount of talent, but if he continues to play his silly game then he should quit immediately. Why embarrass himself anymore.
This is to John himself. John, why not put golf first for two years and see how it goes. I'd bet that you'd do rather well, I'll even cady for free.
For all of us that like you, JUST DO IT !!!

My heart breaks a little each time I read one of these stories about JD. I know he does a lot of charitable good, but his public behavior (ESPECIALLY for a professional golfer) is unacceptable. Imagine how the next group on the tee felt when they were greeted by the stink of beer on the tee box? John is an alcoholic and has been for years. In a game that is supposed to be a gentleman's (or lady's) sport, he is out of his league. The last time I saw him, he was too drunk to swing a club and dropped out of a tournament to nurse his hangover. I've given up hope that he will ever amount to anything. He is making Happy Gilmore look like a gentleman.

I agree with CRS ( 12:01 26th ). John has a generous heart has has used what fame he has garnished from his talent to do a lot of good. As an avid golfer for most of my life I feel the questions should be directed towards Kid Rock in these photos. Come on!!! Bib overalls and a tee shirt!! Also at some point he removed the tee shirt. We appreciate your entry fees that go towards all the charities involved but at least have the decency to dress accordingly for the event. I feel that celebraties like him are more arrogent than intelligent when they act like they can do whatever they want because of their money.

I play on a little dirt track golf course. They have minor standards like must have a shirt and no jeans or farmer coveralls. I bet the golf gods (TV)were messing their pants when kid rock showed up like he is dressed. He would not be allowed to play on my course dressed like that. Is daly ever going to do something right again?
