Just in case you thought the Europeans needed another advantage in the upcoming Ryder Cup, good news, they got it. Thanks to trusty Jack Nicklaus, they can hang this article above their lockers in Valhalla for a little extra motivation.
The President Cup captain said that he thinks the Americans will win the Ryder Cup easily, even without Tiger Woods.
"Even without Tiger, (the Americans) should win easily".You know, all this is true. The American golfers are better than most of the world probably thinks and just because we choke like Pierce Brosnan in "Mrs. Doubtfire" when the Ryder Cup rolls around doesn't mean they can't play. It just means they aren't good Ryder Cupers. Big difference.Nicklaus went on to say that he isn't discarding the European team, he just isn't impressed by their record in the matches. The 18-time major winner, twice a Ryder Cup captain, told Golf Digest: "I just believe we have better players.
"I think American golf is better than perceptions based on recent Ryder Cup results."
"Europe has a lot of good players and a host of very promising young guys. But who among them has a great record? It isn't like the 1987 European team that had Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle, Bernhard Langer, Ian Woosnam and Jose Maria Olazabal."We probably didn't give them enough credit at the time, but history has proved those guys were great players. It was no accident they won. But there's no reason the US team should lose."
This is actually another solid point if you look at it from just one side. Yes, the Europeans only have two players, Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia, with winning records at the Ryder Cup, but the Americans have a total of zero with more wins than losses. I guess it works both ways.
Either way, here is just another thing the Europeans can discuss on the putting green before they go out and fist pump their way to another victory. Saying the Americans can win this "easily" is like bringing up Heidi Montag when discussing the Grammys. It's too crazy to even make sense.

I'm just looking forward to watching the match. My favorite tournament. I remember when the '99 cup was played in my backyard in Brookline. That final day comeback was amazing...not quite as amazing as the sox sweep down the road in 2004 (but that's not the point).
Good Luck US!!

andre - My problem with democrats is pretty basic. They have a major inferiority complex. They tend to be socialists or communists since they can not acheive things on their own. They need a central government to redistribute wealth and try to make everyone equal thus stiffiling individuality and a reason to acheive greatness. It is in conflict to what made this country great and if it is up to the democrats we will be another USSR in 10 year. Other than that I have no problems with them and they are wonderful people. On a side note I shot a tidy little 92 from the whites today. I'm getting better and better every day

This is one of the most lopsided Ryder Cups ever. The US is gonna get smashed. It might not even come down to the Sunday sinlges matches. Besides Stricker, the captains picks were awful. No Woody Austin or Rocco Mediate. I think Azinger did this just cause he knew it wouldnt matter and wanted to get some young guys some experience.

andre, My problem with republicans is pretty basic. They suffer from a major insecurity problem. They tend to favor Big government that intrudes on every aspect of citizens lives and generally love dictators in other countries as long as they are submissive to the USA. They wish to concentrate wealth in this country to the top 10%. If it is left to republicans we will be another third world country. Other than that I have no problem with them and they are...... well, I'll leave it at that. On a positive note I think the US squad just might pull a 1980's hockey team and thump the Euros.
