The story that won't die in the golf world seems to be making a loop back to Steve Williams, who spoke Monday at a charity dinner.Tiger Woods' caddy said that he regrets saying "I hate the pr**k" in regards to Phil Mickelson a day after Woods made public that he was disappointed in the comments concerning the famous Lefty.
"I don't deny that him and I don't get along," Steve Williams told The Associated Press from his home in New Zealand. "I shouldn't have said it, but no harm was meant. I was just having some fun."
Williams' apology seems just what you'd expect from the caddy who is better known for his cold demeanor around the golf course. He said he wishes he hadn't said it, but he didn't take a step back from the fact that he doesn't like Mickelson, or his man boobs.
Steve wasn't the only one to talk about this mess. Long time coach of Tiger Woods and current coach of Mickelson, Butch Harmon, spoke about it all and seemed more upset than Phil.
"I can't believe he said what he said," said Harmon. "I think it's deplorable that he would say something like that. Golf is a game of honour and integrity and that was a very uncalled-for remark and I don't think it's a reflection of how Tiger thinks of Phil Mickelson.
"He's a nice guy, all the guys like Phil so I don't know where Steve was coming from with that comment.
While I agree that the comments were unnecessary, I'm fairly certain the "all the guys like Phil" comment could be a stretch, seeing as he has earned the nickname FIGJAM from his golfing peers. Yes, we all can agree Steve was out of line for saying this. Yes, we all can agree that Mickelson's man boobs have been scaled back over the last year. No, we can't all agree that everyone in the world loves Phil, even though his retort to these comments have made him look more like the "Aww shucks" guy we used to love. What does Butch think about Tiger right now?
"Having worked with Tiger for 10 years, I can tell you he wouldn't have been very happy with that."Judging by his rare response to media attention, I'd have to agree with Harmon on this one.

Steve williams should not talk about Phil's man boobs when Williams has rabbit teeth and a room temperature IQ.

I'm stealing this from a wise woman but...
It's hard to say if Steve Williams got a slap on the wrist or a slap on the back.
A caddie is hired to carry a golfers bag, give advice about course, and help reading the greens. No where in his contract does it state he should be commenting on other golfers or their game.
I believe Steve is great for Tiger's game. I don't think he is Tiger's #1 choice for public relations.
....look beyond what was said and too who, and think about what the result was.
Tiger catching headlines/blogs/ responses.... without pegging it up.
The FigJam's P.R firm was given a gift! (exposing a soft spot in the FigJam's image,no pun intended)
The hype of Tiger Vs Phil increased 10 fold.
HypeOB1's rating: A+
Maximum exposure for no P.R budget spent.
Right or probably wrong, Steve got the job done.
I think its time to let the Steve Williams story go, its done, he apologized.
MIchelson has admitted he does not like Steve and Steve has admitted he does not like Michelson, we will never know if something did not trigger the remarks from Steve so why not give him the benefit of the doubt.
