Anna Rawson, as you might remember, has been in the headlines two times in the past four months, once for successfully meandering her way through LPGA Q-School alongside Michelle Wie to get full status on tour, and again for comments she made about the past image of the LPGA.
To recap what she said during a radio interview in Australia:
"The tour has got so much better with so many young stars and great players," Rawson told the radio station in an interview arranged by her father Jim.
"But the mentality unfortunately amongst the media and the industry hasn't changed. They still think we're at 25 years ago when the tour was full of, you know, a lot of dykes and unattractive females nobody wanted to watch."
While the comments were obviously ridiculous and insensitive, GoDaddy.com is a website that prides itself on controversial marketing, so maybe Rawson and the company will fit perfectly together.
The 27-year-old Australian will be teaming up with Danica Patrick, Candice Michelle of the WWE and poker star Vanessa Rousso to help promote the service, which sells domain names. Not a bad foursome for GoDaddy to bring to the first tee, if you ask me.

Wait until Ms, Rawson does Playboy. People will scream she destroyed women's sports. It;s the same knee-jerk reaction that keeps women from performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show,

Ms Rawson is telling you younger people the truth. I used to go to the LPGA events to eatch Kathy Whitworth, Laura Baugh and Nancy Lopez, I was amazed at the numbeer of lesbians playing the game.I realized the great looking young golfers would either be scorned or hit upon by otheer tour players...Too many dykes so I stopped going and began to watch some matches on T.V. Thank God for the influx of Asians, Hispanics and Europeans, we can now watch both a good looking golf swing attached to a good looking woman.

What's up with her Bugs Bunny teeth and all the wrinkles? Plus her eyes look weird, like one of them is glass or something. Baffles me that she holds herself up as one of the new generation of hot, young golfers.

Koz - Danika has won a major race. However, in the spirit of your comments, she is becoming known for her looks and not her racing prowess. For that reason, I'm appalled by the attention given to a female athlete's appearance. These women are not even the top contenders in their respective fields and yet they are getting all this press. Sad. This is why I am not a follower of sports coverage. It's too difficult to find a venue of the media that even gives a damn about the actual playing of the game.

It is all about entertainment really anyway. If good looking women merely do a credible job against the bulk of male competition considering that they have been excluded demographically from competition before recently, I'm all for them being easy to look at doing it, if they've risen to doing it on television as a spectator sport celebrity. NOBODY to speak of is an actual participant past elemenatry school age recreational leagues in ANY sport in which some are foolish enough to watch on television. Its ALL about circuses as in "bread and circuses" to keep the masses distracted from what "THEY" are doing in the political economy with our money and to separate us from it in any way that they can. Money represents your life as in "time is money" or the contemporary political economy equivalent of slavery or "indentured servitude" through debt for things of little importance.

More Political Correctness runs amok.
"Ridiculous & insensitive," says writer Shane Bacon.
Sorry, but Rawson made a general statement that is not at all ridiculous. Insensitive? Waaaahhh, boo-hoo-hoo. Poor baby. Did she call you a name and hurt your widdy-biddy feelings? Run home to mama. She'll hold you in her arms, sing you a lull-a-by, and rock you back & forth to sleep.
What is really ridiculous is all this P.C. crap.
