Each Wednesday during the golf season, FanHouse will list the top five names in golf and why they're important. Did Barack play 18 with Tiger? Did a certain player do something controversial off the course? Or was just playing golf enough to get the pot stirring? Join us for a new weekly ranking feature we call Making the Cut.5. Peyton Manning -- Courtesy of the PGA Tour Twitter, Manning's Pro-Am round at Quail Hollow with Tiger Woods was apparently pretty darn entertaining. On the first hole, Peyton hit a bomb that was only 10 yards behind Woods. The crowds were reportedly three or four rows deep, which isn't that normal for a pro-am.
4. Lorena Ochoa -- Ochoa won her second event of the season this Sunday at the Corona Championship, shooting consecutive rounds of 65 on Thursday and Friday. If she isn't the most dominant golfer in the world, she's second, and that is pretty impressive considering Annika Sorenstam was in this same position just four years ago. What college did both of these golf phenoms attend? You got it. The University of Arizona.
3. John Daly -- He has knocked off 40 pounds, but nobody knows how much that will affect Big John's golf game. In his first public appearance on a golf course in months, Daly was sporting a slimmer gut and a ridiculous outfit. No matter what color Daly dyes his hair, if he could find his game again, the golf world would accept him. Does golf need more basket cases like Daly? Absolutely. Will we ever see him win a big tournament again? It appears his game (and mind) is finally in the right place for that to happen.
2. Tiger Woods -- Anything related to Tiger is news, and this week we learned that he will be a member of one of the tougher non-major fields of the year. Tiger has had some time to tweak his problems at Augusta (see putting, short irons) and hopefully we will see Woods contend again this week at Quail Hollow.
1. Padraig Harrington -- It's about time we mention Padraig as the coolest golfer on the planet. First, he was playing the coolest hole in the world with fellow touring pro Raphael Jacquelin and now Harrington was on Sports Science attempting to dash rumors first brought to us by Happy Gilmore. Harrington's year might not be what he wanted (eight events, zero top-10s) but at least he's having some fun and allowing us to watch. I'd say his next move should be either a cameo on Myth Busters or an attempt to break up Heidi and Spencer.

Ooops! Lorena won this year's Honda Classic in Thailand by three strokes over Hee Young Park. The win in Mexico last week was her second of the season.
