Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning Play Pro-Am at Quail Hollow

During tournament weeks, Tiger Woods is usually the first guy on the course during practice rounds. He likes to avoid the crowds, get in his work, and get out before the gawkers, autograph seekers, and would-be targets of Steve Williams' wrath descend on the course.

Well, nothing changed on Wednesday at Quail Hollow, site of this week's PGA Tour event -- Tiger still went off early. The only difference: his pro-am playing partner was Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, and the galleries following the group made it look like the final round of a major.

As you can see in the YouTubes above, Peyton's got a pretty good swing, and Tiger, via Twitter (!), admitted that "We've played a few times. He's getting better, I can tell you that. A lot better."

Also from the PGA Twitter Machine: "Tiger backed off from tee shot on 17 as fans were taking pictures. He addressed the ball again -- to total silence -- and put it to 10 ft."

I mention that because the most amazing thing about the video -- other than Tiger's steely silence as he makes his way from tee to green while Peyton stops to hobnob with supporters -- is the number of cameras going off from backswing to to follow through for both players. If that had been a tournament round, Stevie would've thrown the camera -- with the perp still attached via the strap -- into the nearest lake.

There are also the requisite "Peyton is a swell guy" stories from University of Tennessee fans around the 1:35 mark. Perhaps more surprising: none of them were Clay Travis.
