You might remember back in 2008 when we brought you a story about Rudolph Giuliani's son, Andrew, getting kicked off the Duke University golf team and then suing the school for his troubles. Well, the case that won't die took a step in the right direction on Tuesday, with Magistrate Judge Wallace W. Dixon siding with Duke on the case, according to The Smoking Gun. Not only did Dixon side against young Giuliani, but he used quotes from "Caddyshack" to show just how ridiculous it was that this came to court. +1, Mr. Dixon.
Dismissing one Giuliani claim, Dixon wrote that the misplaced argument "brings to mind Carl Spackler's analysis" from "Caddyshack": "He's on his final hole. He's about 455 yards away, he's gonna hit about a 2 iron, I think."I'm not a lawyer by any means, but if you bring an action to court and the judge quotes "Caddyshack" to dismiss your point, it probably means he didn't take your case too seriously.
There is good news for Andrew, however ... he graduated from Duke this May, so I guess complaining that you got kicked off a collegiate golf team is a lower priority for him now. Hey, with less school work maybe now Andrew can work on his golf game.

This case hasn't done much for the sport, but it sure has revived the Golf Joke.
