Ho-hum. That was Tiger Woods' opening round of the FedEx Cup at Liberty National in New Jersey. A 1-under 70 for the current FedEx points leader was good enough to stay within shouting distance of the leaders, but it was a pretty boring day by Tiger standards.

Two birdies, one bogey, and a ton of pars were due mostly to Tiger's inability to hit greens, something he normally does almost 70 percent of the time. Thursday at the Barclays, Woods found just half his greens, and had to scramble to make a score.
Woods is currently trailing Paul Goydos and Steve Marino, both in the clubhouse after opening 65s. Marino, known to get really hot when his putts are dropping, made eight birdies Thursday while Goydos maturely needed just seven for his round of 6-under.
The talk of the week, strangely, has been focused more on the golf course and playoff system than it has on the actual golf tournament. A lot of players have been open about their distaste for Liberty National, with one caddie going as far as describing some holes as "stupid."
That doesn't change the fact that for four days, all the people will be playing the same track, so the complaining has stopped for now as the scores continue to lower.

What is the point of reporting that players are not happy with the course and not tell us who those players are? If you're a journalist, be more specific.
