Andrew Giuliani Wins Pro Tournament

Okay, so it wasn't the Barclays or the U.S. Open, but it was something. Andrew Giuliani, the son of Rudolph Giuliani and famous Duke alumnist who sued the school because he got kicked off the team, actually won the Met Open this week after a third round 71 finished him off at 3-under for the tournament.

The win was worth a whopping $27,500, a large check for a smaller pro event, and put his name on a trophy that contains the likes of Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagan and Byron Nelson.

No matter your thoughts on Giuliani as a person, the kid obviously has honed his game, either from his appearance on The Big Break: Disney that has already been filmed, or just the fact that he doesn't have any colleges that need suing at this particular time. He wants to be a golfer, and winning any pro event is a step in the right direction.
"This is a big-time first step," said Giuliani afterward. "To win a championship like this for my first pro victory in my home area, it's just awesome. It's the culmination of a lot of work I've been doing on my game and hopefully it's a step onto even greater things in the future."
Giuliani was one of just four players in the 132-person field to break par for the week, firing rounds of 68-71-71. No word on if during the trophy ceremony, someone quoted Caddyshack while explaining Andrew's exceptional play throughout the week.
