In an effort to keep our golf visitors well informed on what is going on around the Internet, Range Balls is our weekly link dump. Every Tuesday during golf season, we will toss out some of the most interesting things we came across. If you have a tip, e-mail us at fanhousegolf@gmail.com. Enjoy the links.

-- After the opening offensive play of the Monday Night Football game featuring the Colts and the Dolphins lead to a Peyton Manning touchdown, the cameras caught Tiger Woods giving the star quarterback a celebratory pat on the back. As Stephanie Wei asks, doesn't he have a big tournament this week? [Wei Under Par]

-- Chalk up another LPGA event that will not be around in 2010. The Michelob Ultra Open, played at Kingsmill, will not be on the schedule next year. [Waggle Room]

-- It appears Stewart Cink won't be the only 2009 major champion utilizing Twitter. Y.E. Yang has joined the popular website, and is sharing deep thoughts like his latest tweet -- "going to sleep now hungry and tired its been a long long day." Okay, so maybe it's a work in progress. [Twitter]

-- Ai Miyazato (who I must personally admit, is one of the nicest professional athletes I've ever met) was in control of last week's Samsung World Championship at Torrey Pines. Miyazato got to the 18th hole, needing only a par to force Na Yeon Choi, playing behind Ai, to make a birdie for a playoff. Miyazato decided to go for it, ending up with a water ball and a bogey. Was the choice the right one? [Devil Ball Golf]

-- Is Mother Nature going to do the same thing to this week's Tour Championship as she did to the U.S. Open earlier this year? Forecasters are skeptical. [Golf.com]
