Everyone is talking about Tiger Woods right now (as Bill Simmons mentioned, if you go to a holiday party, you will spend multiple occasions talking with different groups about Tiger's various infidelities). Except Ian Baker-Finch, that is -- the CBS golf announcer has apparently been given a gag order when it comes to discussing the world's No. 1 golfer publicly.
"Mate, if I say one word about Tiger I will get fired," Baker-Finch said before playing in Australia's richest one-day pro-am at Wynnum Golf Club [Tuesday].This is interesting, because Finch is a commentator and we expect to have his input on important issues in the golf world, and Tiger Woods deciding to leave golf would be the most important thing to develop in the PGA in the last 10 years.
That being said, CBS might have laid down the law in order to make sure that they keep Woods on the network's good side. 60 Minutes would be a likely candidate for a "first interview" with Tiger, so the last thing the network might want is to make the PGA star angry.

I think the way CBS handled the Tiger issue is evidence that it deserves the Network of the Decade Award.
Why did Johnny Miller bail on the next tournament after TigerGate?
Hot chocolate mommas need attention from white dudes!
See Tiger Woods bloody beat-down viral video here> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euXJTf9pMmk

Tiger should ask Obama for a bail out! Two birds of a feather!
How DOPEY of a comment!!! Prob about the dumbest I've heard so far! What do Tiger and our President have in common???? They both have black fathers?? How are they the same as you say here? Wow... why am I always surprised ???!!
Wongpa you are an ignorant redneck. What ever Tiger did is his business not yours. You can not play golf or be President so shut your racist stupid mouth shut moron.
Is this a good old boys network or what? Talk about protection. Anybody remember Tiger and his dad on Oprah discussing the price of fame? I believe they said that the intrusion on their privacy was a small price to pay for the reward they were reaping.
Money talks and unless you are from another planet you know the rest of that quote.
Maybe Ian Baker Finch just didn't want to answer a stupid question. Maybe he felt morally and ethically it would be wrong to speculate like the media is doing, and we know for sure they have no morals or ethics. Maybe the network did give him the word not to discuss something that is no one's business. Good for Finch and the network. And, of course, a**holes like wongtpa have to bring up Obama. You have to laugh at people like wongtpa - poor ignorant slob
Well, what do you know, there actually are reasonable people in this world. Thanks for the wise thinking. I feel sorry for Elin and her children. Tiger isn't a politician and owes the public nothing so I hope they can work things out for the kids sake. It's hard raising kids without their dad being around. My Mom had to do that and she did a great job with very little support. Money isn't the only kind of support they need, however. Personal opinion is Tiger has an addiction and needs some psychiatric help. But I'm no doc. Just hope they get it together.
Why Don't people just leave Elin and Tiger alone. Just let Nancy Grace Handle it. She (The Little Miss know it all) will run it it into the Ground. Just like she does everything else. She solits people opinion on her show. When she is not hearing what she wants, she interupts or shuts people down. Tiger Woods has a problem, He made a mistake. Afew as far as that goes. I am not a big Tiger Woods fan. But come on People CLEAN out your on closets and take care or your on messes. Before you start on every one elses.
Benny: Your comments about Nancy Grace running it into the ground are dead on. You marry trash for a couple of bucks and have a couple of his children and you wonder why you are living on a deserted island in Sweden with a case of the clap? You get what you pay for, both of you white/black trash that have fed endorsed products to the American public for years. You stil have your $1 billion but all we are left with is a rusty Gillette razor and a used Buick. Do the right thing for a change and think of the innocent children you brought into this world and give them a chance at a normal life by behaving like decent parents and decent human beings.
Tiger marketed his integrity, discipline and good judgment. Now it turns out he has none of these qualities and he will pay a price for the double life he has led just like anyone else in that position. He brought his troubles upon himself. I have no sympathy for him.
Pray tell just how Tiger marketed his "integrity." Just because you don't wash all your dirty linen in public doesn't mean that you're pretending not to have any.
Well Lynn, when Madison Ave picks someone to be the spokes person for a product it is either because they are perceived by the public to be an honest(person of high integrity)person or they are highly associated with the product and already known to the public by that association. If you look into the camera and tell everyone to buy a product, what you are saying is that you the public can trust me, even though we all know that they do it for the money, it still works. So, that is how he marketed his integrity. He put himself on the world stage and said that you can trust me. Politicians do the same thing because there is really no difference between politics and advertising. So Lynn, even if I said you were right about his integrity, what do you say about his lack of self discipline and poor judgment? By the way, I'm not a Tiger hater but just a guy who calls em' as he sees em'.
Baker-Finch was probably given the gag order because CBS is afraid he might make a gaffe. Many other sports commentators have been sacked for expressing their opinions. This seems very wierd in "the land of the free." Obviously money (from advertisers) trumps any other principle no matter how noble.
I wish everyone would shut up about Tiger Woods already. Sheesh...
CBS, you show competence and understanding. Let the morons rant and rave, they will not change the world, certainly will not influence the outcome of Tiger and his wife's dilemma. They are legends in their own microcosmic minds.
Once again CBS is using double standards. They let Letterman do jokes every night about Tiger. If Tiger comes back to golf maybe Tiger can do jokes about Letterman's infidelities Tiger and Letterman should both go to an island and beat the crap out of each other. Two scumbags.
Everyone needs to give it a rest on Woods. Would you want all your indiscretions aired all over the world? Let's be real...most of us have a hard time dealing with our faults being known within our own family, needless to say EVERYONE else! I am in no way saying what he did is right or wrong but it should not be "OUR" place to make that decision.
